"Ladies and gentlemen, trainers and Pokémon!" she began. "I would like to welcome you all once again to the Porygon Stadium Grand Opening!"

"As I'm sure you all know, today marks the start of our esteemed tournament. The trainers have gathered and are ready to take on the first of many challenges we have prepared for them." With a wave of her hand, a holographic screen appeared behind her to display the nearly 70 contestants who, curiously enough, were nowhere to be seen among the crowd. In fact, they were already in the domes awaiting the signal to start. "Without further ado, allow me to announce Round one and let the games begin!"

----------------------------------------------------------

He tentatively took a step. Then another. He could feel the heat rising up through his sandals. The small crocodile Pokémon wriggled under his arm, excited by the new environment.

"Find the rest of my team before the time runs out, easy! ... Well, if not for the volcanic landscape."

Leone gave a dejected sigh. The Porygon stadium seemed to live up to its standard, with the rocky, mountainous terrain stretching out as far as the eye could see. High above the geysers left of where he stood was the stadium screen, where Hero had declared the opening and just below that was the countdown.
After readjusting his grip on Total he set off, moving down between rocks and geodudes, towards the centre of the dome. He assumed it wouldn't be long before he found something, or someone, since there were numerous other trainers searching for their Pokémon within the dome as well. Confrontation was imminent, it seemed, with Total leaping onto a rocky mound and picking up a foreign pokéball.

"Ah! No Total! Put that back! Were only meant to be looking for our own friends."

The young Totodile ignored him, climbing high out of Leone's reach. At the top of the rock pile he stopped, sat down, and began chewing at the ball. The water-type trainer wiped the sweat from his brow, the heat of the stadium already getting to him. After checking that his sandals weren't melting, he started to climb up after his Pokémon, testing the rocks to make sure they wouldn't slip out from under him. Total watched as his trainer climbed, but continued to ignore him, content with trying to put as many dents as possible into the ball. As Leone neared the top he reached out, attempting to grab Total by the scruff of his neck, but at that moment one of the Totodile's teeth came in contact with the release button, creating a large flash of red light. Leone pushed himself up against the rock pillar, watching as the pink Pokémon looked around. Dragging the Totodile by its tail, he climbed down and moved towards the confused Pokémon.

"Au...dino?" It questioned.
"...What's that Pokémon? Now I really wish I did have a PokéDex." Leone squinted at Total, then the unknown Pokémon, before going back to Total and flicking him on the snout. "No no no. We don't have time for this. Return."
He returned the Audino to its pokéball.

Moving off again he didn't feel right taking someone else's pokéball. It felt like stealing, and Leone wasn't one to steal. But in thinking about it, would the other contestants take pokéballs that weren't theirs? Would they use them as a swap item? Horde them so their chance of winning was higher? When everyone was moving towards the dome, Leone had seen at least one guy with a bad attitude. These thoughts continued to run thought Leone's mind as he searched. Amongst the landscape of brows and reds, the bright blue diveballs of Queeni and Structure were quickly spotted. The opposite could be said about the Torkoals, each spewing smoke and fire when Leone mistook them for rocks.

"Total, Water Gun!"

The excited pokémon climbed up the side of Leone's head, griping his hair as it shot a stream of water at the torkoals. The hiss of steam caught their ears and the prevailing cloud gave them a chance to run. He had to admit, if this is what being a trainer was all about, he wasn't going to be running off to find gym leaders anytime soon.
Skidding on a few loose stones, he wedged himself into a crevasse to take a moment. Sweat was pouring from his face; he took long and shaky breaths. Unsure of why he was still wearing it, he removed his light jacket, thinking back to the lady in Sootopolis who had given it to him. How he longed to be back at sea, swimming in the cool waters of Hoen, picking magikarp from his families fishing nets. As his breath evened out, he started to dose off at thoughts of lying with his siblings on the deck of the boat.
The young Totodile had started climbing again, up onto the rocky crag sheltering Leone. Total was very happy when he spotted another pokéball just below, and went into a run for it. The net type ball was wedged lightly under a paw, but Total payed it no mind and latched his jaw over both. A pained howl called out and Total looked up, seeing an enraged houndoom, and its entire pack, looking back. The Totodile sweat dropped, releasing the houndoom's paw and patted it, but the pack leader was having none of it and snarled. The little pokémon picked up the pokéball and sprinted as fast as its legs would take it, back to Leone.
The water type trainer didn't even flinch as his pokémon landed in his lap. It clawed desperately at his chest, feeling the vibrations from the pack of houndours and houndooms heading right for them. Leone happily muttered in his sleep, speaking about today's catch of fish, until ice cold fangs bit into his arm.

"YEOW! WHAT? Total?! That hurt why would you even-...."
He paused, spotting the worried look on his Totodile's face, Peabeu's pokéball, and hearing the angry growls from behind.

"Total you didn't...."

Leone didn't even give himself time to turn around, simply sprinting in the opposite direction. He hoped he could find the last two of his pokémon soon, he was getting very sick of fire types.
Yep, Totaly stole that first bit |D Anywho.

Part two will have him running into another trainer or two |D That is, if I ever write it...

Part 2: Comming (hopefully) Soon
